A new-build scheme of two and three bedroom luxury apartments with uninterrupted far reaching sea views and a large commercial space at the ground floor level has been submitted to Canterbury City Council for approval. The proposed modern façade features historical links to the neighbouring properties while maintaining its own identity and enhancing this part of Herne Bay Conservation area. The spacious apartments were designed to make the most out of the sea views, many with private outside space and all with secure gated parking. The commercial element will be able to accommodate a variety of businesses and we welcome enquiries from potential occupiers.
Herne Bay town begun as a small shipping community receiving goods and passengers from London en route to Canterbury and Dover but didn’t reach its prime until the late Victorian era which is celebrated in the town’s architecture. The seafront promenade has been extensively regenerated in the 1990s and nowadays guarantees a beautiful stroll along the sea connecting the main historical attractions- the King’s Hall, the Grade II listed Clock Tower, the Central Band Stand and The Pier with its independent market stalls and fun fair rides. This increasingly popular seaside town is steeped in history and has a lot to offer whether you are a foodie and like to frequent the independent tea rooms and restaurants or you enjoy water sports such as sailing, rowing or yachting. Keen walkers or cyclists can visit the nearby cliff-top remains of St Mary’s Church at Reculver Country Park or the quaint neighbouring seaside town of Whitstable that is famous for its oyster harvest, independent stores, food festivals and sailing. Herne Bay also hosts an annual ten day summer festival full of music, cultural treats and family entertainment.
The site is situated in a prominent seafront location, across the road from the beach and only a short walk to the town centre and the mainline train station that offers high speed service to London St Pancras in under 90 minutes, making commuting a viable option.
